Bio: Catherine Traylor
Catherine Markham Traylor was born on the 1st of May 1780. Her father, Captain Archer Traylor had served with Virginia during the Revolutionary War and her
parents had been married in the previous year. Little is known of her childhood and youth, but on the 14th of April 1806 she was married to John Robertson in
Chesterfield county Virginia. Her father gave consent and offered surety. The ceremony was performed by Rev Thomas LaFon (Baptist minister) of the Church of

this family branch. It has been an invaluable resource in learning more about this line. In this database I have included a chapter from Gresham's book which
gives detail to the life of the Robertson family.

Six years passed before John Robertson married again. In September of 1827 he was married to Matilda Vaughn. I have no record of children. John Robertson is
buried in Farmville, Prince Edward county Virginia in 1843. He may have been living there with one of his children. His tombstone at the Westview Cemetery
