Catherine Julia Lowe was first married to Cornelius Adrian VanSlyck, and they were the parents of three identified children - Anna VanSlyck; Cornelius Adrian VanSlyck (married Diantha Hannah Dewitt); and Sarah Ann VanSlyck (married Walter Graham). Catherine J Lowe secondly married Joseph Marr, and they were the parents of four identified children - James Sanderson Marr (Katie Knight); Mary Elizabeth Marr (married Frank Kellerman); Julia Josephine Marr (married Cornelius McCarthy O'Donovan and Gustav Breaux); and Elsie Angeline Bedell Marr (married Harry W Knight).
Rev Joseph Marr, his oldest son, became a useful and honored Presbyterian minister. He was born March 14, l806, and entered Princeton Theological Seminary in 1832. Ordained 1835. After 40 years of service, as a minister in Williamsport, Pa, Buffalo, NY, Northumberland, Pr Berwick, Pa, etc., he died at the home of his daughter, Harriet, wife of General Irwin Gregg, at Lewisburg, Pa. He was thrice married, and had 10 children, and many descendents. A daughter, by his third wife, Josephine [Catherine Lowe?], became the wife, first of Cornelius O'Donovan, of Philadelphia, and, second, of Gustav A. Breaux, of New Orleans. Both husbands were members of the legislatures of their respective states. Col. Breaux was an officer in the Confederate service. Descendents of Rev. Joseph Marr live in Kansas, Missouri, and South Carolina, as well as Pennsylvania.
